Management of dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has apologized over the clashes which ensued at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards last weekend.
Chaos broke out at the music fiesta after Shatta Wale stormed the stage while Stonebwoy was receiving his award for emerging the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the year for the fifth consecutive time.
Stonebwoy was seen on national TV pulling a gun on stage during the melee and had to be restrained by his associates. The stage fracas led to a long hold up of the prestigious event organised by CharterHouse as security struggled to restore order between the two camps.
Shatta Movement Production has issued a statement to apologise over the issue.
“Management of Shatta Wale wishes to render a sincere apology to all patrons of the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), viewers of the event around the world, organizers of the awards, Charterhouse Productions, title sponsors, Vodafone Ghana and all Shatta Movement fans worldwide for the unfortunate incident that happened during the recently held VGMA. We further apologize for all the inconveniences caused on the night and afterwards,” the statement said.
