Member of Parliament for the Agona West Municipality and Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Mrs. Cynthia Morrison has said parliamentarians including the speaker of the house Prof. Aaron Mike Ocquaye now call her “One Corner”.
According to her, she was given that name because the coiner of the ‘One Corner ‘ song Patapaa Amisty hails from her municipality.
Mrs Morrison who was addressing audience at the “Night of Knockouts Swedru’ yesterday [December 28, 2018] at the Swedru Sports Stadium lauded organizers Green Code Boxing Promotins for putting up the event and urged boxers to do their best.
“…don’t hurt each other…” She said on a lighter note.
She insisted that boxing is a good profession which creates employment and assured them of her support though she has not have a glimpse of it before.
Adding to her point, ‘NPP Pragya’ mentioned that like Patapaa Amisty who is selling Swedru to the world and has made her colleagues in parliament call her one corner she wishes to see the boxers follow such footsteps.
The ‘One Corner’ song was released in 2017 by Patapaa Amisty known in real life as Justice Amoah. The song came along with some craze dance and got people across the world dancing.
It won both 3 Music Award and Ghana Music Awards UK ”Most Popular song of the year’.
According to Patapaa, part of the monies hmade from the song built him a four bedroom house in his hometown Swedru.
