Ghanaian Afropop and Afrobeats singer, Wendy Shay, has asked her collegue female celebrities to desist from going nude to sell their music.
According to the ‘Uber Driver’ crooner, female artistes should not rely on the public perception that s–x sells instead they should concentrate on doing good music.
In a conversation with Sammy Flex on Real Talk, she said a musician can flaunt her body but without churning out good music she will not succeed in the music industry.
“S–x sells but it doesn’t mean that you have to be going naked. You don’t have to be nude for your music to sell. I think the main thing is the music,” she said.
Wendy Shay added “If you keep on showing your ass and your boobs and the music is not good, it’s not gonna sell,”
The Rufftown Records signed artist stated that she has never intentionally played the s–x sells trick since she announced her presence in the music industry.
In her own words “It’s not intentional. I embrace my sexiness and womanhood like I always say so everything that I do is very natural we’ve never really planned anything like that,”.
