A corp member who had his orientation in Taraba State was confirmed dead in accident while 19 others injured.
According to reports, the deceased was heading to his primary place of assignment (PPA) in Sarduna Local Government Area of the state, when the Toyota Hiace bus he was traveling in had a collision with a minibus.
This was confirmed by the state’s NYSC coordinator, Florence Yaakugh, “It was a minibus that had a head-on collision with a Toyota Hiace bus conveying the corps members to Sarduna Local Government Area of the state for their primary assignments.
“The accident, according to some eyewitnesses, occurred when the minibus was attempting to overtake two trailers at a time, but could not make it leading to the accident. It is not an easy moment for me and the entire NYSC in Taraba State”, she said.
She further revealed that five corps members injured in the accident are still receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center in Jalingo, the state capital, while others have been discharged.
