Luis Suarez has sent a message to Barcelona team-mate Denis Suarez ahead of his temporary move to Arsenal .
The midfielder is poised to join the Gunners for the rest of the campaign after the clubs agreed a loan fee of around £2.2million for his services.
Arsenal could make the deal permanent in the summer for around £20m if it is successful.
Uruguayan striker Suarez took to social media on Tuesday night to wish his pal well.
He posted a picture of the pair alongside the caption: “Good luck little Galician in this new challenge.”
Suarez made 46 La Liga appearances for Barcelona after joining from Villarreal in 2016, scoring three goals.
He spent on time on loan at Sevilla earlier in his career where he worked under Gunners boss Emery.
Suarez is expected to complete his switch to the Emirates on Wednesday and Emery has explained what the 25-year-old will add to his sqiad.
He said: “Generally speaking, we need wingers. And if you have a player like Denis, I know him because he played for me at Sevilla. His quality is this.”
