Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang humiliates Alexis Sanchez with stunning stat as Arsenal defeat Leicester

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang once again proved he’s the most lethal impact sub in the Premier League as Arsenal swept Leicester aside with a 3-1 victory.

The Gabonese forward started on the bench at the Emirates – just as he did at Fulham – but punished the opposition with a quickfire double after coming on as a second-half substitute – just as he did at Fulham.

Unai Emery experimented by starting with Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette alongside each other in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Watford before the international break.

However, it appears Emery prefers playing with just one of the pair in attack, bringing the other on after the break to wreak havoc against tiring opposition defences.

Aubameyang’s consecutive braces takes the former Borussia Dortmund man to six for the season in the English top flight. Alexis Sanchez, meanwhile, has only managed one for the campaign.d

Manchester United fans thought they had pulled off a major coup when they landed Sanchez on a free transfer, but are there any Arsenal fans out there who miss the Chilean? Nope, thought not. This ridiculous stat just about sums up how their seasons are going…

Emery could be tempted to start Aubameyang in the Europa League against Sporting this week but the Spaniard had no regrets about his starting XI versus Leicester.

On Aubameyang’s absence from the starting XI, Emery told Sky Sports: ‘Well we are doing a lot of things tactically with the players, with the combinations, every match.

‘The first XI is with Lacazette with Mesut [Ozil] with [Alex] Iwobi and [Henrikh] Mkhitaryan.
