A terrorist hideout in Borno State has been struck by the Nigerian Air Force says the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole.
This was confirmed by the Air Force spokesman, Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, who said this on Saturday, noted that it was part of efforts to eliminate remnants of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) on the fringes of the Lake Chad.
According to Daramola, the operation which took place on Friday, May 31, was executed following the discovery of the active terrorists’ settlement by a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform which was on a routine mission.
He further explained that the Air task force scrambled 2 Alpha Jet aircraft to attack the location, scoring accurate hits on 3 target compounds.
As a result, their structures were destroyed while some of their fighters were neutralised.
Despite the efforts by the security agencies, pockets of attacks are still being witnessed in the state and across the northeast.
