Manchester United fans do not want to see Jose Mourinho sacked, despite reports suggesting the Portuguese could be shown the Old Trafford door.
The Mirror reported on Friday night that Mourinho will be axed irrespective of United’s result in their Premier League clash vs Newcastle.
United chiefs moved to deny these rumours on Saturday morning, but the feeling remains that Mourinho will be lucky to see out the season in charge of the Red Devils.
He is said to have alienated the club’s key players such as Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford, and results have been remarkably poor; with three Premier League losses already, United sit 10th in the table.
Nonetheless, Mourinho remains largely backed by the Old Trafford faithful.
The supporters feel the Portuguese was not backed enough by the United hierarchy during the summer, and they believe he is being made a scapegoat for the club’s failures.
And it is not Mourinho that United fans want to see sacked – it is Ed Woodward.
Woodward, the club’s executive vice-chairman, is regarded by fans as the man truly behind United’s failures, and supporters took to Twitter to call for his dismissal amid the reports of Mourinho’s departure.

On serious note. Should Jose get the sack, as what’s being reported. What manager looking in from the outside would take the job? The club is rotten from the top! Woodward! The demise is all on you! You’re a poisonous rat! #MUFC #ManUtd

Reminder: Woodward brokered the deal that has resulted in £1 BILLION being taken out of the club. He's done more damage to mufc than any other individual in the club's history.

Couldn’t agree more with Jose, the problems isn’t Pogba or Mourinho it comes from board, Ed Woodward is a fraud all he thinks about is money. He has no loyalty to Man Utd. #mufc https://t.co/uaOrGNpjlk

The rumours of Jose Mourinho leaving Manchester United are really unsettling, i say keep at the club for 1 more season and rather dismiss Ed Woodward, the problem has never been the manager but the board

Woodward has tested the water with the press release to the Mirror. That's why no others have it.
Seen the backlash and focus shifting towards him.
Almost worse than sacking him.
Mans a coward.

Time for #Woodward to step down. Whether JM is sacked or not, do the fan's really want Ed making another footballing decision at United again? 5 years, 3 managers & still no strategy, no gameplan & no ideas. A financial genius, out of his depth. #MUFC pic.twitter.com/ppFGetG8PY
