Marouane Fellaini’s five-and-a-half year spell at Manchester United came to an end on Friday when the midfielder completed his move to Chinese side Shandong Luneng Taishan.
The 31-year-old, who scored 22 goals in 177 Reds appearances, leaves after lifting the FA Cup, the Europa League, the Carabao Cup and the Community Shield during his time at Old Trafford.
The Belgium international’s departure sparked a number of well-wishing messages from members of United’s first-team, with Paul Pogba sending one of particular poignancy.
“My bro I wish you all the best in your new club,” the Reds midfielder tweeted. “I’m gonna miss you here man… thanks for all the advise, for your help, only few real brothers in football and you are 1 of them, love you bro @Fellaini [sic].”
David De Gea, Marcus Rashford, Ander Herrera and Eric Bailly were among other United players to add to tributes, but United fans were particularly touched by Pogba’s message.

‘It’s obvious why his teammates loved him’
Respect due to Fellaini…150% effort whenever he puts the shirt, always fighting for his teamates and executes his coach's instructions…It is obvious why he is loved by his teammates and coaches. Best wishes in China…
