Jesse Lingard mocked by Arsenal fans after Manchester United FA Cup exit

Arsenal fans revelled in Jesse Lingard’s misfortune as Manchester United fell to defeat at Wolves on Saturday to exit the FA Cup.

Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota scored for Wolves in the second half to effectively see off United, for whom Marcus Rashford’s stoppage-time strike failed to rescue the game.

Lingard made little impact throughout his side’s difficult evening, and was hauled off by boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as United chased the game.

He had caused a stir amongst Gunners fans when the sides met at the Emirates earlier in the competition, with his moonwalk celebration going down particularly poorly amongst the home fans when as United won 3-1 in the fourth round.

The defeat to Wolves was United’s second in a row following defeat to Arsenal in the league last weekend, the first time the team has lost back to back games since Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho on 18 December.

It leaves the Champions League as the team’s only possible means of silverwear this season.
