I Didn’t Take Beyonce’s Email Serious – GuiltyBeatz On Working With Singer

Ghanaian music producer Ronald Banful better known in showbiz circles as Guiltybeatz has revealed how Beyonce’s team recruited him for the singer’s new album.

Guiltybeatz produced three songs on ‘Lion King, The Gift’, the album Beyonce has described as a love letter to Africa.

It includes ‘Circle of life’, ‘Already’ and ‘Keys to the kingdom’ on the 14 track album scheduled to be released on Friday, July 19 2019.

Speaking on the Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he told Andy Dosty the entertainment show host that, he doubted the authenticity of an email he first received from Beyonce’s team.

“I was contacted last year for a different project but I didn’t believe it was them…It came via email. They were saying they needed an instrumental for a performance. I didn’t really follow up…so they ended up using a South African song”

Meanwhile, Beyonce has divulged why she chose Africa performers on her new album.

“This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.”

She also mentioned that she employed producers from the continent to work on the songs to give it an African touch.

“Each song was written to reflect the film’s storytelling that gives the listener a chance to imagine their own imagery, while listening to a new contemporary interpretation. ” Beyonce noted

She concluded “It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers. Authenticity and heart were important to me.”
