The husband of former governor of Alaska in the US and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, has filed for divorce from her after 31 years of marriage.
According to the content of a document filed Friday in Anchorage, Alaska, Superior Court, her husband, Todd Palin cited an “incompatibility of temperament” in his marriage to Sarah Palin “such that they find it impossible to continue to live together as husband and wife.”
The filing includes a child custody jurisdiction affidavit for the couple’s only youngest child, who is 11.
According to CNN, the affidavit is a standard form in divorces in Alaska involving minor children that includes information about children who will be involved in custody proceedings.
Palin, who served as governor of Alaska from 2006 to 2009 was picked by late Sen. John McCain as his running mate in the presidential race in 2008.
Sarah and Todd who met in high school in Wasilla, Alaska got married in 1988 and they have five children together.
