Arsene Wenger has spoken openly about being linked to the AC Milan job, and the former Arsenal boss has called the rumours he is going to take over from Gennaro Gattuso as ‘fake news’.
Since leaving the Gunners at the end of last season, Wenger has been enjoying life away from the watchful eye of the dugout, but has certainly not ruled himself out of returning to management in the future, and unsurprisingly the veteran coach has been linked with a few jobs across Europe.
However, the rumours that he is set to take over the reins at AC Milan has been gathering speed in recent days, but the 69-year-old Frenchman was quick to enlighten the footballing world on his possibilities of managing the heavyweight Italian club.
Speaking on beinSports, Wenger said: “The only thing I can say it’s fake news. If I signed somewhere I would tell you. It’s wrong information. I can not master the rumours, I am just focused on doing well for beIN Sports and that’s not easy.”
Wenger has already gone on record expressing his will to potentially return to management in 2019 and a move to AC Milan is certainly not out of the question as only earlier this year the former Chief Executive of Arsenal Ivan Gazidis moved from the Emirates Stadium to the San Siro.
So, while Wenger maybe playing down the link to AC Milan, as shown in the clip below, it would be necessarily too shocking to see him next seen in the technical area of the Serie A giants.
