FG, NLC meeting ends in a deadlock


The meeting between the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Federal Government on Friday over the proposed new minimum wage for workers in the country ended in a deadlock.

The Federal Government team were led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, led a delegation of other ministers including Mrs Zainab Ahmed (finance) and Mr Udo Udoma (budget and national planning).

The meeting was convened in a bid to avert the proposed rally by the workers who have demanded a minimum wage of N30,000.
