A UK popular media, The Guardian has reported that Nigeria’s sensational singer, Davido is on his way of becoming a global community as the superstar moves from being Nigeria’s pop’s favourite son after the success of the 02 Arena Concert.
Contrary to claims from certain quarters that the 02 Arena Concert was a sold out, the UK’s Guardian also reported that the concert was nearly a sold out, confirming Sound City TV’s earlier reported claims that Davido almost sold out the 02 Arena in London for his concert.
IN the recent article where the event was reviewed, The Guardian wrote in part: “considering the anticipation attached to this gig, which has been talked up as a significant event for Davido he’s nearly sold out the O2, a considerable leap toward the mainstream.”
The media further writes, “Having the stature to corral the actor into serving as his hypeman and, a bit later, to inveigle dancehall superstar Popcaan on stage for two songs, hints that Davido’s transition from Nigerian pop’s favourite son to global commodity is under way.”
From the above statement, it proves indeed that the singer didn’t actually sell out the whole 20,000 capacity as he had earlier claimed he did.
The DMW boss revealed on his Instagram that he did sold out the arena for his concert and reports began making rounds of how the singer joined the leagues of other A-list artistes who had sold out the Arena.
Recall that Davido was being compared to Wizkid after he sold out the O2 Arena.
But, Davido reacting to the comparison on his Twitter page wrote: “You all can stop arguing now, it is not about who did it first or who did it alone without help.
