Barcelona fans notice Lionel Messi reaction to Antoine Griezmann glitter celebration

Lionel Messi watched on in awe as new Barcelona team-mate Antoine Griezmann lit up the Nou Camp on Sunday night in La Liga.

Messi is still recovering from a calf injury but was spotted in the stands with a huge smile on his face as Griezmann celebrated his second of the evening.

The Frenchman had earlier canceled out Nail Fekir’s opening goal and then gave them the lead just after half-time with a sublime curling effort.

In what appeared tone a tribute to NBA star LeBron James, Griezmann was then handed a bunch of glitter by a member of staff that he threw into the air.

Fans them noticed Messi’s reaction and were quick to pay tribute on social media to the pair, who will link up in a formidable frontline once the Barca talisman is fully fit.

“This Messi – Griezmann duo will be crazy,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“I swear Messi’s spirit just possessed Griezmann,” another added.

Another wrote: “Messi’s face reflects that of all Catalans when he sees Griezmann’s goal. And they said they got along badly.”

After Griezmann had put Barca ahead in a crazy second half, Carles Perez, Jordi Alba and Arturo Vidal all hit the back of the net before Loren added a consolation for the hosts.

The prospect of Suarez and Messi coming back into partner Griezmann will strike fear into to La Liga defences.

Barcelona fans should not have to wait long to see all three together as Messi is already back in full training and could feature against Osasuna on Saturday.

Suarez picked up a knock in the 1-0 defeat by Athletic Bilbao in their first game of the season but it is nothing serious and he is also in contention.
