Martial set to for Man United stay
Anthony Martial has agreed a new five-year contract with Manchester United according to reports in his homeland on Friday.
Martial hasn’t had the greatest of times at Manchester United over the past couple of seasons.
The Frenchman largely struggled to impress former boss Jose Mourinho and found himself on the fringes of the team.
There were even several suggestions that the player could leave during the summer transfer window.
Martial’s relationship with Mourinho was also brought into question at the beginning of the season.
As Man United were wrapping up their pre-season tour of the US, Martial travelled back to France for the birth of his child.
However, Martial didn’t return to the squad when expected and that caused some tension.
Later in August a report from the Independent explained that Martial was in the middle of a ‘cold war’ between Mourinho and Man United.
This was claimed to be because ‘Mourinho was so insistent on getting rid of what he saw as an unresponsive player’.
Instead, the club were looking to give Martial a new deal.
Now, that deal looks to be done according to reports on Friday.
The future of Manchester United

It is said that there are just a few minor details left to be ironed out.
This will come as a huge boost for the club and their fans.
With his performances in the second half of the season considered, it was important to get him tied down to a new deal.
Now, Martial and the club will look to press on with Ole Gunnar Solskjær at the wheel.
