Liverpool legend Ian Rush has revealed Aaron Ramsey’s decision to leave Arsenal for Juventus was based on his desire to win trophies.
Juventus confirmed this week that they’ve agreed a deal to sign Ramsey on a free transfer at the end of the season once his contract with Arsenal expires.
Ramsey was open to staying at the Emirates but the Gunners withdrew a contract offer to the midfielder and he’s set to earn a reported £400,000-a-week in Turin.
And Rush, who played for Juventus during his distinguished career, has revealed that Ramsey told him he wanted to move to Juventus for trophies.
‘He’s a fantastic player, a very reserved person, a man of the family. Juventus care a lot about how their players act off the pitch and he’s a genuine person, the right man for the Bianconeri,’ Rush told Calciomercato.
The Spaniard admires the midfielder but feels the club could use the £200,000-a-week offer they made to Ramsey in better ways.
