When most people think of losing weight, they see it as a huge list of foods you cannot eat and a long list of exercises that you must do every day as you carefully calculate your calorie intake to make sure that you’re on track.
However, the truth is that by doing these 7 things, you can lose weight without any stress.
(1) Eat More Often
It sounds like this would cause you to actually gain weight, but breaking up your normal 3 meals into 5 to 6 meals a day will actually help you lose weight. This is because when you eat a large meal, your body isn’t able to digest and instantly use all of the calories it takes in, which means storing some for fat.
(2) Eat Dark Chocolate for Dessert
Eating dark chocolate for your dessert is a great way to cut down on your calories and sugar. An ounce of dark chocolate has 170 calories compared to milk chocolate which has 220 calories. The difference in the sugar count is even bigger. Another benefit of eating dark chocolate is that you’re still getting the chance to enjoy sweets which will reduce your sugar cravings.
(3) Stop eating Unhealthy Foods
By making a few simple swaps with your food choices, you can cut your calorie count way down without any extra effort. For example, choosing almond milk instead of skimmed milk will cut down your calorie count from milk by about 75%. Choosing grapes instead of raisins will cut the count for that snack in half, and going with turkey patties instead of beef on your next burger night will reduce your calorie count by 50%. Not bad at all!
(4) Drink Water Before You Eat
At least 30 minutes before you sit down for dinner, start drinking a 16-ounce glass of water. By drinking plenty of water before you eat, you will eat less since your stomach is full of water and the water will also help to make sure that your metabolism is working, which results in you burning more calories.
(5) Shrink Your Plate Size
By using smaller plates, you will automatically eat less because you won’t be putting as much food on your plate. A recent study revealed that people who switched to plates that were just 9 to 10 inches in diameter were able to lose 18 pounds in a year!
