Tanzania President orders Soldiers to buy cashew nuts


The Tanzanian army have been ordered by the President, John Magufuli to buy up the entire country’s crop of cashew nuts, following the refusal of private companies to pay the price fixed by the government.

He ordered the soldiers to buy up the nuts at $1.44 (1.28 euros) per kilogramme, higher than the price companies were willing to pay, according to a government statement issued Monday.
