Manchester United midfielder, Nemanja Matic, has disclosed manager, Jose Mourinho’s game plan against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in Sunday’s Premier League derby.
United will take on the Premier League champions, City, at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.
The Red Devils head to the game after defeating Juventus 2-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday night, while City defeated Shakhtar Donetsk 6-0.
Matic has now revealed that Mourinho’s game plan against City was to stop the hosts’ attacks, adding that the Portuguese gaffer knows how to do that.
“I expect a very difficult game,” Matic told Man United’s official website ahead of the Man City clash.
“They are a very good side, they play good football, they score a lot of goals in every game, but we also have our qualities which we have to use.
“We have to stop them in their attacks, there is a way to do it and the manager (Mourinho) knows that.
“We will prepare for the game. I expect a hard game but, in a derby, everything is possible, and we will be ready for that.”
Matic added, “I think that we believe more that we are a good team, we have also improved and mentally we are stronger.”
