Luke Shaw is in talks over a new long-term contract at Manchester United that will make him one of the highest-paid defenders in world football.
United have been in discussions with Shaw for a number of weeks and are confident that a deal can be completed shortly.
Sportsmail understands the left back’s wages will soar north of £150,000 a week should it be agreed.
Shaw is currently earning in the region of £100,000 a week but his shift in game time under Jose Mourinho has seen his stock rise significantly.

Clean Sheets: 3
The 23-year-old, who wants to commit his future to United, has been one of Mourinho’s standout performers during a difficult start to the campaign.
Shaw’s current contract runs out at the end of this season and United are hopeful of tying him down quickly before moving on to others in the squad.
Mourinho has often criticised the England international’s displays during his two years in charge at Old Trafford.
But Shaw has worked tirelessly to prove the Portuguese wrong, evident by his training fitness during the close season earlier this year.
United’s head of strength and condition, Gary Walker, joined him out in Dubai and the defender has not looked back since, missing just two games so far.
