Gabriel Jesus has admitted he has found life at Manchester City tough ever since he suffered his first serious injury.
The Blues striker bounced back with a hat-trick in the 6-0 demolition of Shakhtar Donetsk to end a barren run of two goals in 14 appearances this season.
Now Jesus hopes he is close to being back to his best form after being edged out of the team by Sergio Aguero.
The 21-year-old has been out of touch this season but burst back into life in the Carabao Cup win over Fulham, when he terrorised the visitors’ defence without scoring.
He bagged two from the penalty spot against Shakhtar before rounding off his first senior hat-trick with a sumptuous lob over the goalkeeper.
But he still feels he has been fighting to get back to his best after a broken metatarsal he picked up in a 2-0 win at Bournemouth required an operation.
